Women Inventors and Irish Scientists & Inventors

Throughout history and right through to modern times, women have played an integral role in the world of innovation.  Women created inventions including the dishwasher and windshield wipers both of which we could not imagine living without.  Life-saving inventions such as the fire escape and life raft were also invented by women.

Throughout the centuries, Ireland has proven itself as a nation of inventors with many of its natives having made important contributions to their particular fields of endeavour.  Outlined are a selection of just some of the many Irish contributors to the world of science and innovation.
