International Women's Day 8th March 2023

Today is International Women's Day, a global day which celebrates the social, economic, political and cultural contributions and achievements of women. The theme for this year is DigitALL: innovation and technology for gender equality. This theme aims to recognise and celebrate the contribution women and girls are making to technology and online education.

The Intellectual Property Office of Ireland works with women in all areas of business to protect their ideas, creations, inventions and designs through our range of Intellectual Property Protection Rights including trade marks, patents, designs and copyright. We also interact with secondary level girls through our "IP in Education" project to help them to understand the importance of protecting their IP for future business ventures.

In the words of our former President Mary Robinson, "Feel empowered. And if you start to do it, if you start to feel your voice heard, you will never go back".
